Mentorship Programs

Mentorships with Pilates Instincts is for the students who wish to excel just as much mentally as they do physically to achieve the best out of their techniques and mindsets.

Dance is truly one of the most physically demanding training one can do. Without restraint and discipline, functional technique, balanced core and posture strength, injury is common and frequent. Therefore, in a mentorship approach, dancers are taught to take ownership over the limits of their bodies whilst receiving physical training to develop the strength to excel past those limits. It’s like going on a physical journey of understanding to intelligently turn weaknesses into strengths and feel great along every step of the way, not fatigue and frustration.

Shannon also has the privilege of teaching the students a way to connect to and utilise their most important part of themselves to defy anyone’s expectations. The mind of a dancer needs to be anatomical and metaphorical to achieve the balance of athleticism and art, strength and creativity, discipline and freedom.

The mind is a tool and needs to be developed and exercised often more than the body to achieve results. Successful Dancers are known to be excellent problem solvers, negotiators, resilient yet driven all within a sphere of humbleness.

During a mentorship a dancer will learn:

  • =All the skills from a Pilates Instincts dance workshop yet delivered on a greater timeframe. This gives the students time to experiment, practice, refine and internalise the knowledge into successful experiences
  • =Mental exercises to improve focus, control and artistry with overarching mental health benefits
  • =Exercises to improve discipline and proactivity allowing a dancer to be receptive and eager to develop a resilient training
  • =A home workout and pre dance class program specifically for dancers to get stronger at a daily approach
  • =Opportunity to ask questions and embark on a self-discovery path
  • =Many more Pilates exercises to produce a simple yet effective technique

DURATION:

Currently offer on a term-by-term basis. However, mentorships can be tailored to your needs
